Laughter and humor in a life of Fibromyalgia? Find out how to laugh again.

Living with Fibromylagia can sometimes make it difficult to find humor and have laughter as a part of your daily life.

That is why it is necessary to look for things in your day that are humorous, to identify what is funny and then incorporate more of those funny, humorous moments into our lives.

So, what makes you laugh?

What do you think is funny?

Reading comics

Jokes

Puns

Reading funny stories

Listening to comedians, humorous story tellers

Watching slap stick

Funny home videos

Your children, children in general

Or is it...

Your friend, your husband, wife, partner

Puppies and kittens playing

Movies - comedies or romantic comedies

Radio - funny talk show hosts

A particular TV show

How many times when something is funny, do you think - oh, that’s sort of funny?

Or maybe it causes a slight smile, but you don’t laugh out loud.

If that’s the case, then you will need to find a way to move it from a “that was funny” thought, to a 'laugh out loud'.

You can start by becoming aware of when you have one of those “that was funny” thoughts. Then consciously, move from the thought, to a smile and then to a laugh - out loud.

You may have to force the laugh the first time, maybe the second time, maybe even the third. But as you continue to consciously force yourself, you will find yourself more often, more frequently and more easily laughing out loud.

You will also find that at some point you won’t have to focus on finding a time to laugh.

You will begin to laugh spontaneously, freely and joyously.

So, look to find those things that make you think - “oh, that was funny” and in time, you will be laughing out loud.
